Mantis

---

Mantis was discovered inside a large green egg that appeared behind Iktomi Tattoo sometime during the summer of 2022. We initially assumed it belonged to a bird and contacted several wildlife organizations, but before anyone arrived the egg cracked open and Mantis crawled out fully grown, wearing shoes and asking if we had any coffee. Within several hours they had learned English, figured out how to use the WiFi and somehow demonstrated an advanced understanding of tattooing that would normally take a human being years to develop. Mantis has been making incredible tattoos with us ever since, although they occasionally becomes completely motionless when a fly enters the room and refuses to explain why every September we find a new green egg behind the building. At this point we just leave them alone.
