Thomas became the official piercer at Iktomi Tattoo after appearing one morning with a briefcase containing several pieces of jewelry, a single lemon and documents proving that he had been legally dead since 1994. Thomas assured us that the paperwork was “mostly a misunderstanding” and asked that we focus instead on his extensive knowledge of putting holes in people, which seemed reasonable at the time. He has since proven himself to be an incredibly talented and professional piercer and an all-around great addition to the shop, although he has no reflection in the bathroom mirror and every piece of silver jewelry within ten feet of him becomes noticeably warm. We asked Thomas about this once and he politely reminded us that employees are entitled to privacy, so the investigation has been suspended indefinitely.
